Art over the years have been used as a medium of giving voice to the voiceless and echoing sanity among the nations. I was in Lagos over the weekend and also seme border, around Benin republic, I saw the great move of spoken word poetry
and Literary movement , of course, had to speak at one in Ikeja...Poets are rising, Spoken word artistes are moving and this time in a strong and massive force but I found out it is basically in Lagos, Benin Republic, Ogun, Badagry, Benin, Abuja alone. Of course, taking a tour around few of these states and country has not but made my eyes opened and make me see that we have to see to the rebirth of spoken word and literary movement in Ondo state.
Guess this is the right time we (poets) need to become activists, speak on behalf of others and pen thousands of words that will cause a global change. Its a team, not a club and we are inviting members across ondo state, students who feel like joining the team and see to the rebirth of these activities back on campus and ondo city at large...
